Previously, if someone was considering a custom-ordered car purchase, it generally meant that it was a rare car or they were looking for something specific. Either way, the car buyers were willing to pay for the privilege of getting something unique, despite knowing that it would likely take extra time to finish the order. The status symbol of buying a rare car canceled out the extra wait time rather than getting a car from the local inventory. Fast forward to today, and the landscape has greatly changed. No longer are there rows of new vehicles to pick from, so when you need something different, then custom ordering from the manufacturer is now your best option. If you need a car immediately, getting it from the cars available on the lot now is your best option.
The absolute best part of custom ordering your new car is that you can select just the upgrades you want. You can pick leather seats, the big NAV screen, and AWD, and it can even be your favorite color: blue! In the past, you might have needed to compromise depending on the available new vehicles. You might be able to get all of the features you wanted, but it was Front-Wheel Drive instead of AWD. Or you could get All-Wheel Drive, but it had cloth seats instead of leather. When you custom order your next new vehicle, you can get exactly what you want.
On the other hand, by ordering your new vehicle from the manufacturer, you don’t get stuck with the tech you don’t want. Maybe you wanted AWD and Navigation but didn’t care about the vehicle color or leather seating. In full transparency, you might not be able to select every option ala carte, yet by ordering your new car, you can minimize the pricey upgrades. We do suggest that you check out any option packages, as they often have the most popular upgrades together at a lower price.
