Engine Specs

Range Rover Evoque Engine SpecsThe Evoque comes standard with a 2.0L 4-cylinder Ingenium gas engine that generates an impressive 237 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. This engine is equipped with a twin-scroll turbocharger, which responds with powerful acceleration as soon as you hit the gas pedal—there’s practically no turbo lag.

Range Rover also gives you the option to upgrade to a more powerful 286-horsepower Ingenium gas engine, which provides 295 lb-ft of torque. With this engine under the hood, the Evoque can go from 0 to 60 MPH in six seconds flat and reach a top speed of 144 MPH. This high-performance engine is available on 5-door HSE Dynamic and Autobiography trims.

Both engines get a ZF® 9-speed automatic transmission to keep the acceleration smooth.

Range Rover Evoque: Agile Handling

Range Rover Evoque

The Evoque is built on a strong yet lightweight body. Strategically placed high-strength and Boron ultra-high-strength steels provide the stiffness you need for responsive handling. At the same time, features throughout the vehicle decrease its weight, meaning you feel more of the engine’s power and use less gas to get there. For example, lightweight aluminum comprises the control arms, hood, and roof panels.

This stiff frame is paired with a fully independent suspension, so you have the flexibility you need to go around corners and over rough terrain. Plus, the responsive electronic power-assisted steering (EPAS) system adds more comfort and fun to your drive.

You don’t need to choose a specific trim to take advantage of four-wheel drive in the Evoque. In fact, Active Driveline technology is standard across all models. This technology can switch between two-wheel and four-wheel drive in the blink of an eye in response to road conditions. Plus, Torque Vectoring can send energy to the rear wheel that needs it most, further increasing traction on difficult terrain.

Off-Road Capabilities in the Evoque

In addition to a powerful engine and agile handling specs, the Range Rover Evoque also has additional technology features to make off-roading even more appealing. For starters, the body was designed to cover a variety of terrains, with impressive approach, breakover, and departure angles as well as a high wading depth, so you can ford a stream.

Approach Angle

23.2 degrees

Breakover Angle

22 degrees

Departure Angle

33 degrees

Wading Depth

19.7 inches

All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) makes that terrain easier to traverse. Whether you’re going down a steep hill or crossing a shallow stream, ATPC can help you maintain a low set speed, so you can focus on maneuvering across the trail.
